EVE
Service Design Project
2020
This was the second service I worked on with a group for a yearly competition for all the first-year Master courses at RCA. Each group was allowed to choose a specific field for which we were tasked to develop a project that would lead to a solution for the brief question. In my group case, we focused on mental health. Our work focused on tackling and redesigning the digital web navigation system to make it more mental health-friendly. The end product we presented became known as EVE. Our service was developed as an extension for the google search engine. Its purpose was to identify early signs of depression or suicidal thoughts of the users, through their Internet searches. Then, without compromising their privacy, EVE would allow the potential suicide victims to directly contact specialized professionals which could assist them in their time of need. All of this was done to make the Internet a safer and more accessible place to the mentally fragile users, without limiting their daily use of the online platforms. It was a highly successful project, which allowed us to win second place at the end of the competition.
